Prime Minister Modi uses his rhetorics, charms Haryana voters yet again
"Ek bar mujhe gala laga kar dekho, main tumhe vikas dunga," PM Modi said adding that he had plans to build a better future for Haryana's youth.

Jind: In his ever-so-famous avataar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed a crowd of thousands at the Pandu Pandara village ground in Jind in Haryana. While Modi usually brings to focus national issues like terrorism, foreign relations, economy, Centre-state ties among many others in all his rallies, his speech in Jind covered none of these.

However, what remained constant were his rhetorics which were enough to make the crowd cheer and applaud him.

Taking potshots at the Bharatiya Janata Party's closest rival in Haryana - the Indian National Lok Dal - Modi said, "Bina kaanch ke ainak pehen kar kitna din guzara karoge? Bina kaanch ke ainak ne sabko andha bana diya hai (For how long will you wear spectacles without glasses, spectacles without glasses has made everyone blind," Modi remarked on INLD's election symbol, a pair of spectacles.

On a day when he launched the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Modi also tried to woo the voters by appealing for a chance to serve the state. "Ek bar pani mil jaye, mitti mein sona banana ki kabiliyat rakhte hai (Once the water touches the soil, the soil becomes gold)," Modi said as he urged voters to ensure a BJP government in the state.

"Ek bar mujhe gala laga kar dekho, main tumhe vikas dunga (Show me your support once and I will help you in development," he said adding that he had plans to build a better future for Haryana's youth.

While he yet again reiterated the need for development in the country, he specifically mentioned the need to develop Haryana which is still low on the progress graph on several parameters. "Vikas saari samasyao ka samadhan deta hai. Yahan ke logo ko jodkar yaha ki haalat ko badalna hai. (Development is the answer to all problems. The people of the state need to be involved to change the situation of the place," he asserted while he added that "Haryana has to be saved, it has to be taken on the path of progress."

Hitting out at the Congress, Modi claimed that "those who have looted the country will not be forgiven." He also launched attacks on the Indian National Lok Dal by saying, "the party which looks to snatch the land from its rightful owners, is now dreaming to come to power.

Meanwhile, it was not just his rhetorics which cheered the crowd up. As Modi arrived on the stage, he was presented bouquets and shawls by party leaders, but former Rajya Sabha member Birender Singh had some embarrassment in store for him. Singh was to present a sword to the PM, but soon after the announcement, all on the stage realised that the gift was nowhere to be found.

The sword, apparently had been taken away by one of Singh's close aides away from stage. As all the leaders present on the stage looked in one direction for the sword to be brought up to the stage, Modi too, had to pitch in as he was seen directing his security men to allow the sword to be brought up to the stage.

What's your reaction?
