Hyderabad: President Pranab Mukherjee would visit the temple of Lakshminarasimha Swamy at Yadagirigutta in Telangana on Sunday.
The common Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would participate in the visit, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said. It said changes have been made in the chief minister's earlier programme of 'Haritha Haram' (green campaign) on July 5 in view of the President's visit.
The President arrived in Andhra Pradesh on June 29 for a customary southern sojourn and is staying at Rashtrapati Nilayam , one of the Presidential Retreats.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam building was taken from the Nizam of Hyderabad after India attained independence and handed over to the President's Secretariat. Constructed during 1860, the building premises is spread over 90 acres. The President visits the Rashtrapati Nilayam and stays there at least once a year and conducts official business from the Nizam-era building.
