The police has cracked a case where cash worth Rs 6 lakh was looted, with the arrest of the complainant, police said.
The complainant, Gaurav Sharma (23), who is an agent of the Tata Capital Finance Services Ltd complained to the police that when he was on his way from Vidisha to Ganjbasoda on June 9, he was looted by four miscreants who stopped him near Kaagpur river by parking their jeep on the road, Vidisha Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Choudhary said.
Sharma claimed that the miscreants not only snatched his bag containing Rs 6.8 lakh cash collected by him from different villages, but also took away his mobile phone.
Later, he filed a complaint at Kararia police station. After initial investigations, the police got suspicious, took Sharma into custody and interrogated him, after which he broke down and revealed that he along with his friends Rajkumar Prajapati and Dinesh Bharadwaj cooked up the loot story.
The police also recovered the looted money from a place in Vidisha, after which he was formally arrested. A hunt has been launched to nab two other conspirators, the police officer said.
