Plea for restraint order against media dismissed

CHENNAI: A petition from Thirumurugan of Virugambakkam seeking to restrain the media from publishing or propagating the alleged bribe tapes and financial transactions, said to have been discussed over phone, till a complaint filed in this connection in the Sankararaman murder case attained finality was dismissed by the HC on Thursday.Thirumurugan was neither a necessary nor the proper party, Justice K Suguna said and dismissed the petition. Meanwhile, N Sundaresan, the former manager of Sri Sankara Mutt in Kanchee­puram, has filed a petition in the High Court seeking to implead himself as a party in the petition from advocate P Sundararajan.
