Mumbai: The parents of the baby, who was stolen in October from Mumbai's Wadia hospital when he was just a day old, have announced a Rs 5 lakh reward for any information on him. The parents are also planning to distribute pamphlets to spread the word about the baby. They have been camping at the Wadia Hospital since the baby was stolen and have refused to move till their baby is found. Mumbai police sources say the lack of CCTV footage is hampering the probe.
The Naik family's one-day old baby was stolen from the Wadia Hospital in October. While mother Jasmine Naik has been inconsolable since then, father Devdas Naik has been spending time on a bench outside the hospital, attending to relatives and mediapersons. He said he had left his job in Dubai only to come home to his wife and son.
The incident which the family describes as a a bad dream is being seen as a big lesson for all the hospitals that never considered security as a top priority. Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil has already asked the city hospitals to tighten security.
