A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by BSF in an encounter at Mahawa border.
Amritsar: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) jawans in an encounter at Mahawa Border Outpost (BOP) in Attari Sector.
According to sources, BSF jawans on night patrol fired warning shots when they detected some movement near the BOP last night. When the intruder fired back, the BSF jawans shot him dead.
During the search operation, the BSF personnel recovered the intruder's body with documents establishing his Pakistan nationality and also seized eight kg heroin, .12 Bore gun, a pistol and cartridges from his possession.
Later, a Bangladeshi national, identified as Tasleemudin, was also apprehended near the BOP on Wednesday.The BSF authorities are trying to verify whether there was any link between the two.
