BHUBANESWAR: The former chairman of Orissa Cooperative Housing Corporation Om Prakash Ray has been found to have accumulated assets estimated at ` 2.45 crore. A Vigilance raid on his premises led to the huge wealth Ray had made. The raid came days after the Orissa Government dissolved the cooperative bodies following the amended cooperative societies bill came into force. The sleuths raided Ray’s office and residential premises at five places in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. During the search, he was found in possession of a Ford Fiesta, an Indica, two Tata trucks, gold ornaments worth ` 39.37 lakh, deposits to the tune of ` 16 lakh in banks and hard cash of ` 22,000. His immovable assets included a one four-storey building at Markata Nagar in Cuttack, a three-storey building at Jhanjirmanagal, Cuttack, and investments in Sahaya Real Estate business at Bhubaneswar. The total worth was estimated at ` 1.90 crore. As of now, the assets are worth ` 2.45 crore.
