New Delhi: Temperatures continued to remain high across North India on Friday with the national capital touching 45 degrees Celsius and Amritsar boiling at 47 degrees Celsius. Rajasthan sizzled between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius.
However, the Met department has said that a marginal fall in temperature can be expected by Sunday. 84 people have died in Andhra Pradesh since the 1st of April due to the heat.
New Delhi continued to bear the brunt of heat wave and the weathermen have predicted no respite from scorching heat in days to come. The day temperature was recorded five notches above normal level at 45 degree Celsius, slightly down from yesterday's 45.7 degree Celsius, which was the highest for the month of May in a decade.
The minimum temperature was registered at 29.5 degree Celsius, which was three notches above normal and 1.9 degree below from Friday's 31.4 deg C. Humidity level hovered between 45 and 22 per cent.
According to an Indian Meteorological Department official, there would be no respite from the heat wave conditions. Met have predicted a clear sky for Saturday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to remain at 45 and 31 degrees Celsius respectively.
