New Delhi; Nokia's Ovi Maps is ready for an upgrade. Nokia has launched a new beta version of the mapping product and the final release is expected by the end of 2010. With this upgrade, Nokia has taken the mobile navigation challenge to Google Maps.
The new Ovi Maps also comes with a "check-in" feature, allowing users to share their current location on Facebook and other social networks.
The new release also includes gesture control and real-time traffic information. The upgraded Ovi Maps will be compatible with Symbian^3, as well as Symbian^1 phones.
Ovi Maps beta adds visibility to subways, trams and trains in 85 cities around the world in addition to safety alerts, visibility to parking and petrol stations, and speed limit warnings.
