No rules for creative poetry writing

KOCHI: “Today there are no special rules for writing poetry and it cannot be put under a particular category,” said Prof Rangarajan, in the programme ‘Sea Queen English Poetry Blooms’ organised by the Chavara Cultural centre.It was followed by a discussion on creative poetry writing where Mohammed Elias and Shyla Koya spoke. Students from various schools and colleges from the city recited their poems on the occasion.Fr Roby Kannanchira, director of Chavara Cultural Centre, presided over the function. Geetha Shashikumar, co-ordinator, delivered the welcome speech and Aishwarya Mohan proposed a vote of thanks. “We wish to publish a poetry collection of students. Those who write English poems can also contact the centre,” said the director.
