No change in road contract

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has ordered maintenance of status-quo as on December 28 on the issue relating to award of contract for laying highway roads in Villupuram district. Vacation judge KBK Vasuki granted the injunction while passing interim orders on a writ petition from V Devagi of Kalpattu village, on Thursday.According to petitioner’s counsel EC Ramesh, the divisional engineer nurtured enmity against Devagi, as she dragged him to court on an earlier occasion. Hence, he refused to receive Devagi’s tender with necessary enclosure and DDs totalling `4.21 lakh for 22 items of road works.
