KARIMNAGAR: Ever wondered if someone like X Men’s character “Magneto” existed in real life? If you did, then here’s a nine-year-old boy who attracts objects made of steel and iron. Chintam Abhishek, a resident of Perkapalli of Saidapur mandal and class III student from Karimnagar reportedly has magnetic power. This ‘magnet boy’ attracts iron nails, coins, spoons, plates and knifes from a two-inch distance. When Abhishek had visited Vemulawada and Kondagattu temples last week, he saw coins stuck to temple walls and tried the same by sticking the coins to his chest. The coins did not slip off, instead remained glued to his chest. He walked for sometime to test whether they would fall but discovered that they were stuck to his body. To test his magnetic power further, he even tried sticking knives and spoons, after which he and his parents realized that the boy had ‘magnetic power’. “We tried it with different things made of iron and steel and it was working,” said Lingaiah, Abhishek’s father. When our reporter met the boy, he said: “During my visit to temples, I observed coins stuck to temple wall and tried that with my body. It worked,” Abhishek quipped. The ‘magnet boy’ as his friends and neighbours call him, is attracting huge crowd. Many people are queuing up in front of his house to have a glimpse of this kid. When asked whether the kid was suffering from any health ailment, his father confirmed that the boy was healthy. However, local doctors say that they cannot confirm anything without conducting medical tests. However, Abishek is hogging the limelight with his ‘magnetic power’ and entertaining many who are visiting him.
