JHARSUGUDA; The people of Jamgaon in Lakhanpur block on Saturday stormed the Community Health Centre, protesting death of a new-born. They demanded arrest of negligent doctors and medical staff.Sources said a pregnant woman, Gori Bhui, of the village was admitted to the CHC on Wednesday. Her family members alleged that the hospital authorities did not extend necessary medical attention and she delivered the child in a toilet and none was around to take care of the two. The baby died in the wee hours of Saturday, leading to tension in the CHC. The villagers gheraoed the CHC from 7 am. Normalcy was restored after Jharsuguda CDMO BK Nayak promised an inquiry and stern action against the guilty.1 INJURED: One Tinku Badsagar (26) of Kutmenda village in Sonepur district sustained severe burn injuries while working in Bhusan Power and Steel Ltd. Sources said hot metal spilled over in the melting shop of the plant late on Friday leaving Badsagar injured. He has been admitted to a nursing home.
