A 30-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by three of her neighbours in Lisadhi Gate area in Meerut, police said.
The incident happened on Monday night, when Taj Mohammad, Mazid and Imran, entered victim's house who was alone at that time, Ravinder Yadav Incharge, Lisadhi police station said.
The woman then narrated her ordeal to the police on Tuesday but they refused to lodge a complaint. It was eventually filed on the orders of Rural SP, MM Baig.
On preliminary investigation, Yadav said that the matter is fake and the further investigations in the case are on. Once they are completed, police will decide on its future course of action, Yadav added.
