BJP leader Sadhvi Prachi, arrested for her alleged role in recent riots in Muzaffarnagar, was on Tuesday granted bail by a local court. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sunder Lal gave bail to Prachi on two sureties of Rs 2,000 each. She had surrendered before the court on Monday.

Police had registered a case against 40 people, including Prachi for violation of prohibitory orders and inciting communal violence by speeches in meetings at Nagala Madore area of Muzaffarnagar.
Prachi had contested the 2012 Assembly polls on BJP ticket. More than 60 persons were killed in communal violence that had broken out in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in September this year.
