Mumbai Road Rage: MNS Worker Killed In Brawl With Autorickshaw Drivers, Horrific Video Surfaces
According to Mumbai Police, Akash and his wife, were riding a two-wheeler when an auto driver, identified as Avinash Kadam, made a sharp cut, and overtook them.

In a shocking incident, a 27-year-old man was brutally thrashed and beaten to death by a mob in front of his family in Mumbai’s Malad (East).

The deceased was identified as Akash Dattatray Mayin, a member of Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). He was with his parents when an altercation occurred over overtaking on Saturday.

A purported video of the brutal incident surfaced on the social media where a mob was seen kicking and beating the man, while his mother laid over his body to protect him from the mob. His father was also severely injured. Akash was taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident took place when a heated argument escalated into a violent altercation after one vehicle overtook another, reported news agency PTI

According to Mumbai Police, Akash and his wife, were riding a two-wheeler when an auto driver, identified as Avinash Kadam, made a sharp cut, and overtook them. When Akash went to confront Kadam, it escalated into violence as other auto drivers joined him and started beating him.

“During the argument, an angry Mayin allegedly manhandled the autorickshaw driver and his two friends. Following this, the autorickshaw driver and his two friends, along with a few others, assaulted Mayin,” a senior police officer told The Indian Express.

The Dindoshi Police registered a case against Kadam and others on the complaint of Mayin’s wife. With the help of CCTV footage, the police arrested the nine accused, six of whom have been identified as Avinash Namdev Kadam, Amit Joginder Vishwakarma, Aditya Dinesh Singh, Jayaprakash Deepak Amte, Rakesh Malku Dhawale and Sahil Sikandar Kadam.

The police also recovered the stone used by the accused in the murder. “Investigation revealed that it was a case of road rage turning violent. The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused who had fled to other districts,” police official added. The police produced them in the court. All the accused were sent to police custody till October 22.

“Mayin was kicked and punched, leaving him with serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died. Based on CCTV footage, we held six persons on Sunday and three on Monday. They have been charged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder and other offences. All the accused were produced in the court where the court sent all of them to police custody till October 22,” news agency ANI quoted Mumbai Police statement.
