Lucknow: The crackdown on petrol pumps of the state capital continued for the third consecutive day with the UP Special Task Force and officials of the oil companies checking for tampering of fuel dispensing machines.
“The dispensing units of the pump at Sitapur highway was tampered with and there were traces showing the chip was forcibly removed from the machines. Three electronic chips and remote controls were recovered from the Koneshwar petrol pump,” said ASP STF, Arvind Chaturvedi.
The scene was a bit different at a third petrol pump raided late on Sunday night. The five machines at this petrol pump near Polytechnic crossing were found missing.
“Owners need to inform the oil companies if they want to maintain or repair the machines. We are checking if the oil company was kept in the loop in this case,” said Chaturvedi.
