Modi versus Rahul means a comparison between a mountain and a mole: Uma Bharti
Terming claims of a "Modi versus Rahul" contest in the 2014 elections as "ridiculous", BJP vice-president Uma Bharti on Thursday said "it is like saying that there is a contest between a mole and a mountain."

Terming claims of a "Modi versus Rahul" contest in the 2014 elections as "ridiculous", BJP vice-president Uma Bharti on Thursday said "it is like saying that there is a contest between a mole and a mountain."

Speaking to reporters in Bhopal, Bharti said, "Rahul has no experience in politics and governance, while Modi has both in abundance." The Congress has several leaders better than Rahul, but the party does not promote them, she said.

Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh would play important roles during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and the BJP would get the honour of shaping the country's fortunes under Modi's leadership. "Modi should get ready to play a major role in the country," she said.

The BJP leader also claimed that the party would get more seats than projected by exit polls and form the government with a huge mandate. She also claimed that in 2008, the party which she used to head called the Bharatiya Janshakti Party (BJS) received 5.1 per cent of the vote or precisely over 12 lakh votes, which she believes has gone to the BJP this time.

In 2008, if these votes were cornered by the Congress then it could have come to power in Madhya Pradesh, she said. She said that the Congress would not be able to come to power in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh for the next 30 years, like it happened in West Bengal and other states.
