Mind of a terrorist: 'Moody' Kasab smiles at witness
Kasab turned his face away when a witness identified him in court.

Mumbai: Displaying his usual mood swings, lone terrorist caught during the Mumbai terror attack, Ajmal Kasab on Tuesday turned his face away and smiled when a witness in the 26/11 attack case was about to identify him in the court.

This prompted Judge ML Tahaliyani to ask Kasab why he was looking in the other direction and smiling when the witness was pointing a finger at him.

Kasab told the judge that the act was unintentional and that he was not trying to dodge the witness.

The Judge then asked him to look at the witness so that he can be easily seen for the purpose of identification.

With a smile, Kasab looked at the witness and the latter pointed a finger at him saying, "he is the same person whom I took to Nair hospital for treatment of injuries sustained by him on the day of terror attacks."

The witness, assistant police inspector Subhas Narain Warrang, also said that he had revealed his identity as Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab from Pakistan.

Warrang told special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam that Kasab was admitted in the trauma ward of the hospital.

The witness further said terrorist Abu Ismail had also been brought to Nair hospital where he was pronounced dead and added that he had prepared a panchnama (court documents) of Ismail's body.
