New Delhi: The veil from the Micromax Canvas 4 was just lifted and a strong contender has already emerged. The iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1, that will be available for pre-order starting July 13, trumps the much hyped Canvas 4 on the specifications front.
While specifications are not the only measurement of the performance of a phone, it is the overall user experience that matters more, nevertheless on paper it is the Rs 18,000 iBerry smartphone that seems to pack in more punch than the similarly priced device from Micromax. We had a hands-on experience with the Canvas 4, but are yet to get a grip on the Auxus Nuclea N1.
While the Micromax Canvas 4 has a 5-inch 720p display, the Auxus Nuclea N1, according to the spec sheet released by iBerry, will come with a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display. Before the Canvas 4 release on July 8, there were expectations that the company would introduce the Canvas 4 with a full HD display, but it was not to be.
While both phones have a 13 megapixel rear cameras, the Auxus Nuclea N1 has a higher resolution front camera than the Canvas 4. The Canvas 4 is equipped with a 5 megapixel front camera, while iBerry's Auxus Nuclea N1 has an 8 megapixel front camera.
Both phones are powered by quad-core processors, but the Auxus Nuclea N1 outstrips the Canvas 4 with a faster clock speed. The Nuclea N1 has 1.5GHz quad-core processor, while the Canvas 4 has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor.
At 8.9 mm the Canvas 4 is a little slimmer than the 9.6 mm Auxus Nuclea N1, but it is 37.3 grams heavier. Also, the Auxus Nuclea N1 has a more powerful battery than the Canvas 4.
Both phones carry the same price tag, but iBerry gives users a chance to grab the phone for Rs 15,990. Auxus Nuclea N1 will have this introductory offer over a 10-day pre-booking period beginning July 13 following which it will be priced at Rs 18,000.
As there is no word on the Auxus Nuclea N1's internal storage, expandable memory and RAM yet, it is a little difficult to announce the clear winner, but the major specifications suggest that the Auxus Nuclea N1 has the potential to outperform the Canvas 4.
Also, Micromax claims to have included a host of new features in the Canvas 4, but many of those features have been available on other smartphones for a long. Features Micromax seems to be banking on are not exactly innovative, but instead appear to be gimmicks. Also iBerry hasn't given out any details on software freatures on its new smartphone, therefore a head-to-head comparision on that front isn't currently possible.
From the available specifications, the iBerry Auxus Nuclea N1 seems to be racing ahead of the Micromax Canvas 4, but it is only after a detailed review of both the phones that we can deliver our final verdict.
