HYDERABAD: A man was found hanging from the ceiling in Katta Maisamma temple at Kushaiguda here on Sunday. According to Kushaiguda SI Satyanarayana, the deceased is suspected to be a native of West Bengal. Locals found his body hanging from the ceiling in the temple abutting railway tracks at Marriguda. Police recovered photocopies of his voter ID card and a railway ticket for journey from Malda to Secunderabad on June 2. “The photo on the ID card is not clear and we are yet to confirm whether the card belongs to the deceased,’’ Satyanarayana said. The voter ID is issued in the name of Srinath Murugu of Bamangala in Malda district, West Bengal. Suspected to be a daily wage worker, the victim was wearing a khaki-coloured trouser and a red and white-coloured shirt. Police registered a case.Auto driver kills wife, abscondsAn auto driver killed his wife by slitting her throat at her house in Balanagar on Sunday. The deceased, Venkatamma (30), a resident of Balanagar, was a housekeeping staff at HAL. She was married to auto driver Murali, 12 years ago. The couple lived with their two sons at Shiva Shankar Nagar in Balanagar. According to police, Murali, who was addicted to alcohol, used to harass his wife daily. Unable to bear it, Venkatamma filed a complaint with the Balangar police, after which Murali was held and remanded. He was released three days ago on bail. Since then, Murali and Venkatamma began living separately. On Sunday, when his sons went out of the house, Murali attacked Venkatamma and fled. Venkatamma died instantly. Locals informed the police after they found her in a pool of blood. Police have launched a manhunt to nab Murali.Two Arrested, 5-kg Ganja SeizedTask Force sleuths arrested two persons for selling ganja and seized five kg ganja from them at  Erragadda on Sunday.The arrested, J Venkanna and D Lachu Ram, belonging to Ramchandru thanda in Warangal, were selling ganja on instructions from one Mumbai Sreenu. According to Task Force officials, Sreenu had asked  Venkanna to purchase 5 kg ganja at a cheaper price and sell it in the city for higher rate. The duo were waiting at Gokul theatre in Erragadda with ganja and on information, they were nabbed. The duo and the seized ganja were later handed over to SR Nagar police.
