Mala Mahanadu tries to lay siege to TD office

More than 100 activists of the Mala Mahanadu were taken into custody when they tried to stage a dharna in front of the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) office in Banjara Hills on Saturday.

Protesting against the categorisation of reservations to Scheduled Castes, activists of the Mala Mahanadu led by state secretary T Kasanna squatted in front of the TDP offices and shouted slogans against TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu who gave an assurance to MRPS to fight for the categorisation.

Police have beefed up security around TDP offices to prevent untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, traffic movement on the stretch of Jubilee Hills checkpost also came to a standstill for a few minutes during the incident
