Kozhikode: The BJP is contemplating shifting its general secretary Pramod Mahajan abroad for treatment.
But this will be done only on the advice of doctors attending on him at the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai, party president Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday.
"We will think about taking him abroad only after consulting the medical team attending on him and only if the doctors advise so," he said.
Singh was here on an election tour to campaign for his party candidates in north Kerala.
"Though his condition is stated to be improving, it still remains critical," he said, adding that people from all walks of life across the country were praying for his early recovery.
The BJP would release necessary funds for Mahajan's ongoing treatment, he said.
Mahajan was shot at by his younger brother Pravin on April 22 at his residence in Worli in central Mumbai.
