Predicting a "miraculous and unforgettable" outcome for the Lok Sabha elections, senior BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad on Sunday claimed that NDA would bag more than 300 seats while Congress would end up with just 65 to 75 seats in "one of its worst" poll performances.
"The entire country is looking for change and the poll outcome this time will be miraculous and unforgettable in the country's post-Independence history," said Prasad while talking to reporters here in Dehradun.
"In September-October, pre-poll surveys conducted by some news channels gave BJP only 160 seats and NDA only 175 seats, but the same news channels in March this year gave BJP 229 seats and NDA 275," he claimed.
"105 seats are yet to go to polls and I am more than confident that by the time poll results come out, BJP will be near the majority figure and NDA will cross the 300-mark," said the chief media coordinator of BJP.
Prasad said corruption, price rise and Congress' "misrule" were the biggest issues in the elections.
"The party (Congress) is heading towards one of its worst performances at the hustings where it will finish with just 65 to 75 seats in its kitty," he added.
