BANGALORE: The Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owner's Association has demanded state government to fix the penalty fee from people who are operating without permit.Federation president B Channa Reddy said that Bangalore needs atleast 3,000 truck loads every day. He said that revenue officials are seizing lorries which run without permit. "They demand Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 from the drivers. Though there are many who are involved in sand business, officials only target drivers," he said. Further, he said that each load costs around Rs 18,000 but the drivers have forcibly increased the rate to Rs 25,000, claiming the officials are to be blamed for the hike in price. Reddy said they are requesting state government for a fixed penalty fee.
