Mexico's Dos Santos to miss final
London: Mexico forward Giovani Dos Santos will miss the Olympic men's football tournament final against Brazil on Saturday because of a right hamstring injury.
The Mexican Football Federation made the announcement Thursday after Dos Santos had an MRI, saying he will be sidelined for two weeks. The player picked up the injury during Mexico's 3-1 win over Japan in the semifinals Tuesday.
Playmaker Miguel Ponce says "it's sad, but even if he can't be there, we are going to play the match for him and the country."
Dos Santos, son of a former Brazilian player, will be replaced by forward Marco Fabian, who will probably link up with Oribe Peralta in attack.
