Left, BJP slam government

PALAKKAD: In a rare display of camaraderie between the Left and the BJP, the Opposition parties has agreed on the issue of setting up a coach factory and an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) not getting enough attention from the state and the central governments.The elected representatives of the Left parties and the BJP leaders shared the same stage at the Janakeeya Convention on IIT, here. At the function, leaders like CPM state secretariat member and MLA A K Balan, V Chenthamarakshan MLA, M B Rajesh MP, K E Ismail MP, former deputy speaker Jose Baby, president of the district panchayat T N Kandamuthan and senior BJP leader O Rajagopal participated.The convention held in the district panchayat hall was unanimous in its demand for setting up IIT in Palakkad. The heavyweights of the Congress party were conspicuous by their absence, except for the president of Pudussery panchayat Sreedevi.
