Coimbatore: The Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, has decided to collect contributions from the University Department and 200 affiliated colleges for the Chief Minister's public relief fund to help 'Thane' victims.
This follows an appeal by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to the public and philanthropists to lend a helping hand to the massive relief and rehabilitation efforts launched by the TN Government, V-C of the university K Karunakaran said in a press release.
The AUT (Kovai) has decided to take up the responsibility of collecting contributions from the university departments as well as from affiliated colleges and the total contribution will be sent to the 'CM's Public Relief Fund'.
