Doha: South Korean eventer Kim Hyung-chil died following an equestrian accident at the Asian Games on Thursday, organisers said.
Kim's horse Bundaberg Black rolled over him after a heavy fall in wet conditions during the individual cross country event at the Doha Racing and Equestrian club.
Organisers suspended the 32-rider event which was being staged on a 2,470 metre course containing 23 fences.
The 47-year-old from Seoul, a silver medallist on home soil in Pusan four years ago, had been the 11th rider to tackle the course in heavy rain.
