HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader and former minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy is continuing his indefinite fast for Telangana state at the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences here where he was forcibly admitted on Sunday.
Several Telangana Congress leaders and Telangana Joint Action Committee leaders visited the hospital and expressed their solidarity with Venkata Reddy. At the same, time, the Congress leaders urged Reddy to call off his fast which entered the seventh day on Monday.MLC and former PCC president D Srinivas told reporters that the Congress would take a decision in tune with the aspirations the people of the Telangana and may disclose its decision any day. He said he would send a report on the present situation to the party high command and incharge general secretary of the party.

Senior Congress leader G Venkataswami, who also called on the fasting leader, urged the Congress high command to take an early decision on Telangana.

Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram demanded that the Congress high command announce a quick decision on the issue. He appealed to Congress leaders to build pressure on the high command in this regard.

He wanted to know why the central and state governments were keeping mum on Komatireddy's indefinite fast.
