Kidnapped student rescued in TN

KODAIKANAL: Police rescued an engineering college student from a gang and arrested two kidnappers here on Monday evening. The police also recovered two handguns and ` 25,000 in cash from the duo.The police , conducting a vehicle checking on Monday night, intercepted a Kerala registration vehicle in which they found the engineering college student with hands tied and mouth stuffed with cloth. He was struggling for life, said the police source.When the police rescued him, the three travelling in the car attempted to escape from the spot. The police chased them and nabbed two of them.  They were identified as Thaja , 32 ,  and Dhansheer of Thiruvanathapuram.During interrogation, the duo admitted that they had kidnapped the engineering college student, Abdul Saji of Thiruvanathapuram, for ransom. Abdul Saji is a second year engineering college student. His father is running a shopping mall in Saudi Arabia, the duo told the police.
