Mangalore: Following the visit of some Naxals to a home at Sudegundi in Shishila village in Belthangady taluk, Anti Naxal Force (ANF) DIG Alok Kumar and other officials visited the region on Sunday. “Though the team tried to collect information on the Naxal movement, they drew a blank,” sources said.
It is said that a group of five members, including a woman, entered a home at Sudegundi in Shishila on Friday and took away rice, sugar, coconuts and other grocery items after warning the residents not to inform the police about their visit. It is also said that they introduced themselves as Naxalites from Kudremukh region. The visitors said that police torture had turned them into Naxals. ASP Anucheth and other ANF staff visited the spot on Saturday.
“After receiving a complaint we visited the place. It is not the time to reveal anything as we were not able to collect relevant information. Our combing operation will continue,” ANF DIG Alok Kumar added. ASP Anucheth said that since the ANF deals with the Naxalite movement, it will be provided with every possible help.
