NEW DELHI: CIDs trailing the movements of Union Minister M K Alagiri’s wife, Kanthi, have been asked not to create a political flutter in New Delhi or give an impression that the current political dispensation in Chennai is after the leaders and the members of the former ruling family. The CIDs from Tamil Nadu have been on the prowl near the minister’s residence, where Kanthi is apparently holed up, and this has nearly got one of them arrested for ‘suspicious’ movement in a high security area.Sources claimed that “the case cannot be made to look like political vendetta, since there’s enough evidence”.So, why the drama? It seems, special permission is required to go anywhere near a VIP address, let alone nab a VIP target in an out-of-state territory. Kanthi, sources said, has been named in a multi-crore temple land grab case. It seems, she gave the Chennai-Madurai police a slip and landed in Delhi “unnoticed”.Now, the State CID hopes to net her the moment she leaves the bungalow of her minister husband and reaches the Delhi airport.
