Kalabhabhishekam on January 19

SABARIMALA: The customary Kalabha Abhishekam would be held at the Lord Ayyappa Temple on January 19.The ritual, performed by pouring sandalwood paste on the idol, is conducted for keeping the idol cool. The idol gets heated up due to continuous neyyabhishekam during the season. This would be performed by the Thantri during uchcha pooja.‘Guruthi’ on Jan 20The customary ‘guruthi’ ritual would be held at Malikappuram after the closure of the temple at 11 p m.Temple to be Closed on Jan 21The temple would be closed after the Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season at 7 a m on January 21 after the customary darsan by Pandalam Raja’s representative.
