New Delhi: Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist and 26/11 Mumbai attacks handler Abu Jundal's passport has revealed his present and permanent addresses in Pakistan, thereby making India's claim of Pakistani hand in the carnage stronger. India has cited details of Jundal's passport to buttress its claims that he enjoyed the support of Pakistanis state institutions.
CNN-IBN has accessed Jundal's Paksitani passport which he had used to travel to Saudi Arabia and has also learnt that a Pakistani ID card was issued to him in the name of Riyasat Ali while he was staying in Pakistan.
The passport spells out his present and permanent address in Pakistan as Muridke near Lahore. His visa for Saudi Arabia had been issued on the Pakistani passport.
However, Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik had called Jundal's passport fake.
Earlier, sources say Jundal was planning to attack the Nashik Police Academy in Maharashtra. Sources have told CNN-IBN that Abu Jundal was preparing a plan to launch a major attack on the police academy following the successful strike on the Lahore Police Academy in Pakistan allegedly by the Taliban on March 30, 2009.
Jundal and his associates in Pakistan studied the Lahore Police Academy attack and then decide to stage a similar attack in India. The plan was to wear police uniforms and infiltrate the Nashik Police Academy.
Sources say the planning was still on but suffered a setback after the arrests in the Pune German Bakery blast case in February 2010. But Jundal has allegedly confessed that the plans were still on even when he was deported from Saudi Arabia and arrested by the Delhi Police upon his arrival at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on June 21.
The plan to attack the Nashik Police Academy is the first one which was yet to be carried out and according to Jundal some Lashkar terrorists in Pakistan may still be working on the plan.
Jundal is the highest ranked Indian in Lashkar-e-Toiba and has revealed a great deal about the terror group and its links with the Paksitani state organisations, particularly the military intelligence unit, the ISI. Jundal belongs to Maharashtra's Beed district and had gone to Pakistan for terror training.
The Delhi Police have got Jundal's custody till July 5 and investigators are questioning him on the 26/11 attacks conspiracy. He has reportedly confessed of meeting several Lashkar leaders including its chief Hafiz Saeed and operational commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi. Jundal has tutored the 10 Pakistani terrorists who attacked Mumbai in November 2008 in Hindi and had also directed the terrorists during the siege at the Nariman House during the terror strikes.
Jundal's voice samples have already been taken and will be matched with the intercepts available with intelligence agencies. Sources say Jundal's voice samples were collected by the intelligence agencies on June 22, a day after he was arrested.
The Mumbai Police will repeat the same procedure when they take the 30-year-old Jundal in their custody. Jundal is likely to be handed over to the Mumbai Police after their Delhi counterparts complete their interrogation.
The intelligence agencies had intercepted calls made by the 10 Pakistani terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba who had attacked Mumbai on November 26, 2008 to their handlers in Pakistan. In some of those intercepts Jundal is allegedly heard directing the terrorists, urging them to kill more hostages and to prolong the siege.
India believes that Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafiz Saeed and some of his top commanders was present in the 26/11 'control room' in Karachi along with Jundal during the Mumbai attacks. They were not only monitoring the terror strikes but also directing the terrorists.
However, Pakistan has been denying about its involvement in the Mumbai attacks, saying that Jundal had used a fake Pakistani report and it the responsibility of the Indian authorities to check the activities of Indian citizens. Pakistani authorities have also claimed that 40 Indian nationals were involved in the Mumbai carnage.
