Goa: After Shah Rukh Khan did his bit making Chak De the anthem of the nation, its actor John Abraham's turn to make football popular.
Of course it was not a completely altruistic intention he was also there to promote his film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal that released on the weekend. The actor was in Goa to kick-start the Indian Football league and leading him on was the Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi and a football enthusiast.
"We are very glad to have John here, his film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and also to promote football,” said Dasmunshi.
"It would be great if I would be able to do anything to promote the game of football,” said John.
And the actor did not mince words when he said that he would be giving International Film Festival of India (IFFI) a miss and was here for only one intention that was football.
"I'm here only for the football league,” said John.
Of course how well his film Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal scores from these promotions will be ascertained only next week.
