J&K: Omar slams Pak, says governments change but ties don't improve
Omar in a strongly worded statement said that Jammu and Kashmir has not benefited by Indo-Pakistan talks.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has hit out at Pakistan and said that while the Pakistani Prime Minister makes tall statements about peace, the ceasefire is constantly being violated by the Pakistani army.

"Governments have changed several times in Pakistan and every time they claim to want better relations with India. But that is not happening," he said.

Omar in a strongly worded statement also said that Jammu and Kashmir has not benefited by Indo-Pakistan talks. "The people of J&K are now extremely unhappy because of regular ceasefire violations at the border," he added.

The J&K Chief Minister had earlier also asked the Central government to take up the issue with Pakistan.

"I appeal to the government of India to take up this matter with the concerned Pakistani authorities. Ceasefire has been the biggest achievement of the peace talks and if it is violated, the situation will be difficult to handle," Omar had said.
