Chandrasekhar Dubey, who was dismissed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren from his Cabinet on February 19, resigned from the Jharkhand Assembly on Thursday.

Chandrasekhar Dubey, who was dismissed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren from his Cabinet on February 19, resigned from the Jharkhand Assembly on Thursday.

"I have submitted my resignation to Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta. and informed him that I have quit Congress and joined Trinamool Congress," Dubey, who represented the House on Congress ticket, said.

Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta had said on wednesday that he was waiting for a genuine ground before considering anti-defection provisions against MLAs changing political parties ahead of the general elections.

Incidentally, Dubey said, he would file nomination papers as Trinamool Congress candidate from Dhanbad.
