Tianjin, China: Jeev Milkha Singh went through a rough day with a round of 73 as he slipped to tied 58th after three rounds at the Volvo China Open at Binhai Lake Golf course here on Saturday.
South African Branden Grace showed that he is a star for the future with an eight-under 64 for a total of 18-under.
Grace was three shots clear of defending champion Nicolas Colsaerts of Belgium who shot a 66 and was in sole second place, a shot ahead of Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti, alone in third.
Jeev opened with a double bogey but had birdies on second and fourth with another bogey in between on third. He again bogeyed ninth, before sinking birdies on 11th and 15th. A birdie on 16th meant he ended with a 73 and a total of two-under for 54 holes.
Good afternoon conditions after a cold, wet start to the day saw low scores, with Swede Alexander Noren shooting a 63 for a new course record.
He shared fourth place with South African George Coetzee, Ignacio Garrido of Spain, Australian Marcus Fraser and Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Gonnet. Noren's course record 63 included 10 birdies and a bogey, going out in 33 and back in 30.
