Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is visiting the rain-hit districts of the state on Saturday.
She is said to take an aerial tour of the worst-affected flooded districts of Cuddalore, Tiruchirapalli, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Perambalur.
Jayalalithaa, who arrived from Hyderabad on Friday evening, rushed to the Secretariat to review the flood situation with officials.
Though rains have abated in some parts of the state, there has been an unprecedented flooding in 12 districts.
She has also ordered the Coast Guard and naval ships into action so that relief and rescue operations can be conducted on a war footing.
Though rains have abated in several areas, 12 districts are still cut-off from the mainland.
