Sinha has handled several important assignments in Indian diplomatic missions during his career of 32 years.
Colombo: India's newly appointed high commissioner to Sri Lanka, YK Sinha on Wednesday presented his credentials to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat.
Sinha, a seasoned diplomat, has handled several important assignments in Indian diplomatic missions and at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi during his career of 32 years.
Before coming to Sri Lanka, he was Additional Secretary (Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran) at the external affairs ministry. He has also served as India's ambassador to Venezuela, consul general in Dubai, and held key positions in Indian missions in New York, Islamabad, Rome, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.
