BANGALORE: A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed in the Karnataka High Court on Thursday against Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on charges of violating the BDA building bylaws.The petitioner, K G Nagalakshmi Bai in her petition said that the newlyelected chief minister was allotted 24.84 guntas of land at Nelagunte village and had approached the BDA seeking permission to amalgamate the site adjacent to his site. His request was rejected and it was communicated on September 24, 2009.However, he went ahead and started constructing a shopping complex in the residential layout violating the BDA building bylaws, she argued.The petitioner sought directions from the court to take back the site and initiate criminal action against the chief minister.The matter is likely to come up for hearing in court on Friday.
