IIMB director said a "minimum of three years" were needed to implement the quota for OBCs in the institute.
Bangalore: Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) director Prakash G Apte, on Wednesday said a "minimum of three years" were needed to implement the 27 per cent quota for OBCs in the institute.
"We simply cannot do it in one year," Apte said after a meeting of the Board of governors, when asked if the IIMB would implement the quota in one year if the human resource development ministry directed it to do so.
"It has to be staggered over a minimum period of three years or probably four years. Some IIMs need three years and some others four to five years, " Apte said.
He, however, made it clear that the meeting did not discuss the quota issue on Wednesday.
