HYDERABAD: The notice given by the Telugu Desam for moving a no- confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government is as good as dead.Speaker Nadendla Manohar sent a proposal to governor ESL Narasimhan on Monday requesting him to prorogue the Assembly which he might do on Tuesday. If the TDP is keen on moving a no-confidence motion, it will have to wait till the Assembly is convened again, whenever that happens. The speaker had, earlier in the day, told reporters that TDP's notice for moving a no-confidence motion did not come to his notice. "It has not come to my notice. When it does, I will take appropriate action."Manohar said he would go by the rule book in taking action on the petitions given by the PRP, TDP and the Congress seeking disqualification of some legislators belonging to their parties. "I have to protect the rights of political parties," he said. The speaker said that he would usher in new methods of running the House. "To begin with, I want to increase the duration of the question hour. I want greater involvement of members in making legislations. There should be thorough discussions on legislations to be framed," he said.Later, Manohar left for Tirupati for a darshan of Lord Venkateswara. It will be his first visit to Tirumala as speaker of the legislative Assembly.
