H'wood buzz: Travolta twist, Nicole's aroma
Travolta says the best solution for global warming is to move to another planet while Nicole Richie launches her own perfume.

John Travolta has revealed his bizarre solution for global warming – move to another planet.

The actor, who is a follower of Scientology, thinks the only way mankind may be able to survive the impending environmental disaster is to colonise another world.

Travolta, who infuriated environmentalists by flying his private jet to the London premiere of his new film Wild Hogs said, “I think that everyone can do their bit, but I'm wondering if we have to start thinking about other planets and also domed cities because I don't know if there's a way to repair these holes in the sky."

Despite his concerns, the 53-year-old actor, who owns and flies his own Boeing 707, doesn't plan to cut down on his own carbon emissions by flying less.

"The thing is, I use them as a business tool. Maybe aviation will move into not contributing to those factors, but for the next 50 years, at least, that will be a fact,” Travolta said.

The founder of Scientology, American science fiction writer L Ron Hubbard, claimed that extra terrestrial beings were sent to Earth by intergalactic ruler Xenu, who then blew up the aliens with hydrogen bombs in a volcano.

Actress Nicole Richie is set to launch her own perfume. The 25-year-old star revealed she has a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for when she finishes filming her reality show The Simple Life, including releasing a signature scent.

She told Britain's OK! magazine, "I'm working on a style book, plus I'm launching a jewellery and accessories line, a sunglasses line and my own perfume."

Nicole, who has been at the centre of eating disorder rumours, is also looking forward to a well-earned break after a string of stressful months.

“I think I'm going to do some travelling. Summer is my favourite time of the year, so hopefully I'll also find time to just relax by the beach,” she added.

Last year, celebrity fragrances accounted for 23 per cent of the top 100 women's fragrances in the US.

Nicole's friend Paris Hilton is among a host of stars, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria and David Beckham, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, who have already released their own signature scent.

Elizabeth Taylor was one of the first stars to launch her own perfume, which has seen more than one billion sales since it hit shops 15 years ago.
