BALIPETA(NARAYANPATNA): The 32-day hostage saga finally ended on Thursday with the release of the MLA, Jhina Hikaka. As per the statement of Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOSZC), the MLA was released four km away from Balipeta from where he walked down towards the orchard through the village road.Dressed in a green kurta, Hikaka looked visibly tired as he made his way through a crowd of mediapersons and other people gathered for his release. The moment Kausalya spotted Hikaka, silhouetted and in the midst of commandos, she could not control her emotions. Kausalya ran towards them, hugged her husband, felt his hand and thanked God for he was back and safe. “The 32 days felt like 32 years,” she said. Hikaka also got a tight hug from Patnaik.Patnaik accused the State Government of going back on its words on development of the region. The Government took the abduction issue lightly, but thankfully the Maoists and CMAS stuck to their declaration and released Hikaka, he said. Hikaka said he was treated well at the Maoist camp and declined to comment on his resignation from the party and the Assembly.
