CHENNAI:  Four men from Dindigul were arrested by the police on Friday over an alleged hoax bomb threat call made to the AIADMK headquarters on July 17.
In a release here, the police said the AIADMK office on Lloyds Road in Royapettah received a call around 3.30 pm. The caller issued a threat stating that a bomb would go off at the spot. Based on a plaint, the police traced the number and it was found that the identity card of a person, Pandiammal of Pattuveeranpatti, Dindigul, was misused by the caller.Further inquiry revealed that it was an employee of the Pachamalayankottai panchayat union, Jaya Ganesh, who handed over the photo and ID proof of Pandiammal to Balaji and Karthik Raja of Dindigul.

The duo passed the ID proof on to Durairaj, who used it to obtain a bogus SIM card from a retailer at the Dindigul Bus Stand. Durairaj then handed over the SIM card to Karthik Raja, who made the hoax threat call. All the four were arrested. Upon being questioned, Karthik Raja (36), said he wanted to derail the party meet scheduled for that particular day.
