New Delhi: Mahesh Bhupathi had mixed luck at the Australian Open.
He progressed to the men's doubles quarter-finals partnering Radek Stepanek.
They beat the seventh seeded pair of Jonathan Erlich and Andy 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 and will now play the second seeds Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi in the last eight.
But in the mixed doubles Bhupathi lost his first round match along with partner Daniela Hantuchova against the Serbian duo of Nenad Zimonjic and Jelena Jankovic.
Meanwhile Sania Mirza's campaign at the Australian Open has also come to an end with her loss in the mixed doubles event as well.
Sania partnering Anabel Medina Garrigues had lost her third round match to Daniela Hantuchova and Ai Sugiyama 7-6(5), 6-7(5), 6-2 to crash out of women's doubles.
Her luck also ran out in the mixed doubles event when Mark Knowles and Rennae Stubbs beat Sania and Fabrice Santoro 7-6(0), 1-6, 10-7 in the mixed doubles event.
