Negligence on the part of officials was harming the interests of students, he said and noted that admissions had been completed in the neighbouring state of Karnataka.Petitioner’s counsel S Niranjan Reddy submitted that the delay in counselling for engineering course would not only affect the completion of the course, but also the students’ prospects since  entrance examinations for admissions to master’s courses would be conducted basing on the time schedule and a majority of states followed the same time schedule.In fact, the process of counselling would take at least more than a month from the date of notifying the counselling dates, he added.Dealing with another petition filed by G.Pooja Reddy, a student from Ramanthapur area of the city, the judge directed the principal secretary to higher education and member-secretary to AFRC (Admission & Fee Regulatory Committee) to file affidavits explaining the reasons for not finalising the fee structure for technical and engineering colleges till date.
