The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) will be approaching the State government shortly to get the Rs 146.38 crore due to it from the various departments. The move comes in the wake of the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s directive to the water body to first collect the dues from the government departments.
As many as 23 government departments haven’t paid their water bills. At the top of the list are the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development wings, including rural water supply and sanitation. All of them together owe Rs 97.17 crore followed by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department.
